Please allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Jennifer Greenland, and I am the teacher and program supervisor here at East Plains Co-Operative Preschool.

I am a graduate from the Early Childhood Education program at Mohawk College in Hamilton. Upon graduation, I was employed at the YMCA, and then moved to the Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton. The majority of my career was spent 'under the Umbrella', where I held several positions. I was a classroom teacher, acting supervisor and then a cook. The cook's position allowed me to reduce my hours so that I could have more time at home with my own two boys, yet still be active in the child-care setting. Eventually, I was fortunate enough to take a leave from my career and focus on being a full time mom. In 2008, I returned to the workforce, accepting a temporary position at West Lincoln Co-Op Nursery School. This was my first experience in a co-operative preschool centre, and set the stage for my desire to continue down the co-op path.

I have experience in all aspects of programming and am always on the look-out for new and creative ideas to implement with the children. I have a sound understanding of child development, and strive to ensure that all areas of the program are age appropriate and will enhance development. Above all else, I believe that learning and education needs to be FUN!
